Well, another fun convention in the books.
Some updates here. We now are at nhlbc.org. I see Weebly is redirecting everyone there, so that is good.
I have added the package, updated Officers, converted 2018 NHLBCC to Past Conventions, archived past year’s news, have a new background on the about page thanks to Jill - Islanders and added the Rookie Page, finally!
I am am still looking for pictures and news, do keep sending!
Suggestions always welcomed! We now have more space so I can play!!!!
Pre-Convention is in full swing. Today, attendees visited the Herr Factory and are on their way to the Turkey Hill Factory. Tonight is the Pub Crawl.
So far, attendees have gone to a Phillies game, bowled, went whale watching, went to Gettysburg and visited Citizen Bank Park.
More to come as the week goes on.
And today, sitting in the lobby we met a Flyers fan who wondered why we were in Philly for vacation, we explained and her brother has Flyers season tickets and she was going to let him know about the Club. So we may have a new family member this season.
Om to more fun!
This is it. Sunday before Convention. Attendees will start arriving, registration will have limited hours and pre-convention activities will begin.
The Phillies are home, maybe a few went in to catch a game before the Phillies head on the road.
Or maybe someone arrived early to
mske sure they were there for the trip tomorrow.
Or maybe you just went in early to see friends.
Whatever the reason, let the fun begin!!!
In just two weeks, we will be at our family reunion, aka NHLCCC!!
Now is the time to decide what to take. And what about Friday’s theme? What Olympic sport do I have something for besides hockey?
What is that odd thing I don’t know if I remember where I put it or if I still have it? Like where is my toothbrush holder? 😀
Ok, time to go search!
iIn less than a month, we will be gathering in Philadelphia for our annual family reunion, aka NHLBCC.
Now is the time I start thinking about what I am taking. If I wear it now, will I wash it in time to take with me? Do I have all the extras I need? Where is my suitcase etc.
And since we are driving, what else might we want to take? What time do we have to leave? All the fun stuff.
Can’t wait! See you soon!!!
Well, the season is over, congratulations Caps. The draft has passed, hopefully Dahlin pans out. And now we are into free agency.
Will Johnny T stay with the Islanders? As I am writing this, he said he won’t. So where will he go? Will Nash return? Where? Will O’Reilly be traded?
What surprises will come in trades and signings? Will you favorite player be on your team?
Let the fun begin!!
Well, game one is underway in Vegas.
Can’t decide who I want to win. Kinda glad it will be a new team, but do I want a NEW team like Vegas to win? Or do I want OV to finally get his win?
Vegas just scored the first goal of the finals. Not sure how I feel about that. Maybe I’ll just enjoy a good series, at least I hope it is a good series.
We have our first team going to the Stanley Cup Finals: Las Vegas Golden Knights.
Ok, how many of you predicted that? Amazing how a first year expansion team has made it.
I know I did not have them in the finals. Now to see who they will play.
Watching playoff overtime. My team isn’t in it. I keep thinking it is ok if it goes on all night. But then again, I have to go to work in the morning, so maybe not.
But not having your team in it does make a difference. Still enjoying it, but without all the stress. And I may even feel sorry for the loser.
Aw, playoff hockey.
On second thought, maybe not as enjoyable. If my team was in it, I’d stay up. Now, I am thinking should I stay up or not? I have to go to work in the am. Ugh!!!
Hum, problem solved. Nashville just scored. Night!
The playoffs start tonight!!!
I am more relaxed than I would be if my team were in it. Not sure that is a good thing, maybe I want the stress of playoffs? It is fun but can be nail biting. Especially overtime.
When we played New Jersey into the next morning, it was nerve racking but exciting too!!! Who will score? Hopefully us! Then, as the game went on, trying to decide if we go straight to work or go home. We did have a few hours to go home. Then went to work and after work, drove to New Jersey got game 7.
Now that is playoff hockey!!!!
My First Blog
Hi everyone!! Lori, your site editor here.
I keep trying to think of ways to keep the site fresh and useful to everyone. I plan on switching out the pictures on the pages every so often, but I also want to give everyone time to see them. I'll leave the ones on the Past Conventions Page, but the other pages will change.
BTW, don't forget you can email me your pictures. Please let me know what convention they are from.
I have never ever blogged before, but I thought it might be a way to communicate and keep things fresh for those family members not on Facebook. So here goes.
It is my understanding others can post here too. So feel free. Just remember, the Social Media Committee has the right to censure or delete inappropriate posts.
I hope to post a couple times a week, as my schedule allows.
Let's have fun!
