Overtime

Watching playoff overtime. My team isn’t in it. I keep thinking it is ok if it goes on all night. But then again, I have to go to work in the morning, so maybe not.

But not having your team in it does make a difference. Still enjoying it, but without all the stress. And I may even feel sorry for the loser.

Aw, playoff hockey.

On second thought, maybe not as enjoyable. If my team was in it, I’d stay up. Now, I am thinking should I stay up or not? I have to go to work in the am. Ugh!!!

Hum, problem solved. Nashville just scored. Night!

Playoffs!!!

The playoffs start tonight!!!

I am more relaxed than I would be if my team were in it. Not sure that is a good thing, maybe I want the stress of playoffs? It is fun but can be nail biting. Especially overtime.

When we played New Jersey into the next morning, it was nerve racking but exciting too!!! Who will score? Hopefully us! Then, as the game went on, trying to decide if we go straight to work or go home. We did have a few hours to go home. Then went to work and after work, drove to New Jersey got game 7.

Now that is playoff hockey!!!!

The season is over

Well, the season is over for many of us and we are looking forward to next year. We will be watching what our teams do in the off-season, hoping the moves improve our team.

Looking back at the season, how many predicted Las Vegas would finish 5th in the League? They are one of seven teams that weren’t in the playoffs last year.

I was asked if I will still watch the playoffs. Of course. Although it is always tough for me when it is not my team. Ok, first overtime, can maybe stay up. Second, hum, should go to bed. Third, ok, leave the tv on and maybe doze. Forth, why am I trying to sleep?

The worst part is trying to find someone who is still up besides me to try and share reactions with.

Here’s to an enjoyable playoffs!!!

I get all MSGs, so when the Sabres play the Islanders, Rangers or Devils, I'll tape their pregame and watch it later. I finally watched Saturday's Rangers pregame.

They interviewed Stan Fischler. He is retiring. Talking about how he started, he said he was in the Rangers Fan Club and they used to let them interview a player. He said he did an interview and he thanked the Ranger Fan Club..

One Year Plus

Ok, it is a little over one week since the first anniversary of the launch of the new website. I wanted to do something special for it. But I did not. I was going to swap out pictures, but as I looked at them, I thought ‘I like these pictures’ and couldn’t decide what ones to take out. 😀. So no changes except adding to the blog.

Oh well, keep sending news and pictures and maybe someday I’ll be able to swap out some pictures.

Can you believe that it was one year ago today that we launched the updated website?

Time sure flies. It seems Ike I just started looking for a way to build it and now it has been published for a year!!

I love the contributions I have been getting. I am still trying to gather information for the Rookie Page.

Hopefully word is spreading and more News and ideas will come in. I ❤️ pictures especially. They don’t have to be current. I’ll take pictures back to the beginning. It is fun to see how well we have all aged😀. . Like a fine 🍷 or 🧀.

So here’s to a great first year and looking forward to an even better second!

All Star Game / Olympics

So, did everyone watch the skills competition and All Star Game? What did you think?

I recorded the skills competition and have not watched it yet. I had the game on, but was reading. So I guess that gives my thoughts. 😆

I will probably pay more attention to the Olympics. I used to like it more when it was amateurs. NHL players in it were ok, but to me it meant more for the amateurs. Maybe I’m wrong, but what I thought.

I am especially looking forward to seeing if local goalie David Leggio gets to play. He is scheduled to be backup right now, so we will see. He did spend some time in the AHL with the Rochester Americans.

Now back to the regular season and a very busy next couple of months.

Happy New Year!!

I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday season.

The new new year brings us even closer to the Convention in Philadelphia. I am still trying to decide if I am going or not. I had planned on it, but I ended up using more of my banked time off than I wanted, so I have to refigure my days off.

I hear no one has bid for 2019. 😞. I am told Clubs need to be notified by February 1st of another Club’s interest in bidding. I hope some new bids, somewhere I haven’t been. I know, I don’t go to every Convention 😀, but I have been to a good number of cities for. games. I had one job where if I wanted to go to a out of town seminar, they knew I wanted to go to a hockey game more. Why else would I go??? 😀

i hope hope everyone is staying warm and safe and enjoying hockey!!!

Pre-convention

11/3/2017

Philly sent a sneak peek of pre-convention activities this week. Can’t wait to see the details and decide if I am going and where.

I would have liked to go to the Phillies game on Sunday, but I don’t think we will be able to get there in time. Besides, they don’t play my Mets 😀 until the following week.

As as for everything else ,I highly recommend the Crayola Crayons tour. Maybe 5 -7 years ago, we toured the one in Eaton, Pennsylvania. It was a lot of fun. There was plenty of interactive displays for us to do, oh, and the kids too.

Hershey Park was fun too. I loved that all the street lights were shaped like Hershey Kisses. And chocolate is always good.

”Looking forward to seeing all the details.

First week is over

Well, the first week of hickey season has passed. How is your team doing?

Vegas had a very nice opening ceremony. And a good start to their season.

As we enter the second Saturday of games, it is weird to think not all teams are playing. With 31 teams, at least 1 team will be off every night.

One of the broadcasts had an interesting tidbit, did not verify, but they said this is the first time in 5 years Chicago is not involved in an outdoor game. Interesting.

Buffalo is back in the Winter Classic, playing in Citi Field 10 years after hosting the first Classic in 2008. And despite being in New York, Buffalo is the home team. The Rangers agreement with MSG apparently states that all their home games are played there. But will it be a Buffalo crowd? How many fans will travel to New York? Tickets went on sale recently so we will see.

On to the second weekend if hockey. What surprises will it bring?

    My First Blog

Hi everyone!! Lori, your site editor here.

I keep trying to think of ways to keep the site fresh and useful to everyone. I plan on switching out the pictures on the pages every so often, but I also want to give everyone time to see them. I'll leave the ones on the Past Conventions Page, but the other pages will change.

BTW, don't forget you can email me your pictures. Please let me know what convention they are from.

I have never ever blogged before, but I thought it might be a way to communicate and keep things fresh for those family members not on Facebook. So here goes.

It is my understanding others can post here too. So feel free. Just remember, the Social Media Committee has the right to censure or delete inappropriate posts.

I hope to post a couple times a week, as my schedule allows.

    Let's have fun!
